This is the story of 404 Bastards — a world I imagined, inspired by works like Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Blade Runner, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and many others that shaped the genre. But I didn't want another typical cyberpunk. My story happens before everything collapses. It's a pre-cyberpunk tale — the moment when technology begins to devour ethics and corporations take their first steps toward total control.
I asked myself what would happen to the first ones thrown away by this new world — children used as experiments, erased and discarded because they "weren't useful." They became the 404: system errors, ghosts that don't exist in any file.
